Offering spectacular views and high-quality, affordable wines, Iron Hub Winery and Vineyards is a hidden gem in Amador’s Shenendoah Valley.
A Fresh Mountain and Valley Perspective
The first thing you notice when you walk into Iron Hub’s modern and casually elegant tasting room is its large windows framing a picturesque landscape that takes your breath away. With a valley of vineyards in the forefront and the Sierra Nevada mountains as a backdrop, behind the wine counter you are met with spectacular views and you almost forget that you’re there for some high-quality, limited-quantity wine. We say “almost” because, let’s be honest, we never really forget about the quest for good wine, do we? Neither does Iron Hub.

Locally Owned and Operated
One of the many things that make Iron Hub so special is that it is local family owned and operated. Husband and wife team Tom and Beth Jones, along with their son Spencer, grow the grapes, make the wine, and host the guests in the tasting room.
“Blending science, art and respect for the rich complexity of the grapes.”
Iron Hub
As Proprietor and Winemaker, Tom’s 30+ years of experience in creating exceptional wines have influenced his approach to wine making: blending science, art and respect for the rich complexity of the grapes to make sophisticated and well-structured wines. In the tasting room, Beth ensures that guests are well taken care of, are having a great experience, and that their glasses are always filled. (Bless you, Beth!) Tom and Beth also like sharing recipes to pair with their wines with their patrons.

Assistant Winemaker Spencer can be found in the vineyard, carefully tending to the vines and educating consumers about how the environment influences the fruit that becomes the wine.

Oh, and let’s not forget the other member of the family, Smokey – arguably Iron Hub’s most popular host, greeting both two-legged and four-legged guests in the tasting room and on the patio!

A Place to Gather and Un-wine-d
Visitors come for the wine and stay for the social experience. With wine in one hand and picnic basket in the other, winery-goers head to the patio after their tasting experience and often spend an entire afternoon there. After all, what is life without good wine, good food, and good conversation with friends? It just doesn’t get better than this.
